Welcome

My beloved Midnight was born on October 31, 1992 - Yes, he was a true Halloween black cat.  Midnight was very special to me as I helped him come into the world.  From that moment on, we had a very special bond.  Midnight loved to play - but in that he was very unconventional too.  He didn't like cat toys.  But find a twig or a long blade of grass and he'd play forever with it.

Midnight was also my guard cat.  He would lay in the bushes and hide, just waiting for a dog to go by. . . then POUNCE.  He'd follow me and Molly when we would go for our walks.  He'd always stay about half a block behind us and try to hide in the shadows. . .but I always knew he was there.

If Midnight wanted to show affection, he would bite and lick your toes.  It felt so strange, but I always let him get away with it, because he liked toes.  He loved to lay in the sun - as you can see by the brown patches on his beautiful fur.  The Florida sun would fade him in spots to brown.

This page is dedicated with all my love to my beautiful Midnight.

You will live on in my heart forever.

Love Meowmie Terri

O Gentle Cat

O gentle cat,
How shall I part with thee...
when you are not in my delighted eye!
How shall I eat when
you are not beside
to share a bit? How shall I ever sleep
While I no more your
lulling murmurs hear?

--James Thomson, Scottish poet (1706-1748)

Midnight was the sweetest cat you could ever hope to meet.  He loved to be petted and he loved to play.  He licked and bit your toes to show affection.  Midnight loved to torment the dogs and often lay in the bushes - hiding - waiting for just the right moment. . . to pounce!

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can
run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

To My Best Friend

The day they laid you down to sleep
I prayed to the Lord; your soul he'll keep
Until the appointed day and time
when together we'll meet; and all will be fine

With all God's; creatures great and small
go run and play now, have a ball
No more aches; and no more pain
just bright sunshine; no more rain

Rest in peace; for now best friend
cradled in God's arms; to the end
Dream of that special; day and time
when we'll meet at the Bridge; one last time

Although we'll be separated; for a long time
we'll be together then; and all will be fine
We'll cross Rainbow Bridge; side by side
with a soft warm feeling; deep down inside

Once again then; all will be fine
we're together forever; till the end of time

ECCLESIASTES 3:19-21

Man's fate is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath, man has no advantage over the animal. Everything is meaningless. All go to the same place; all come from dust and to dust all return. Who knows if the spirit of man rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?

ONLY THE BEST

A heart of gold stopped beating,
two shining eyes at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove,
He only takes the best.

God knows you had to leave us,
but you did not go alone,
for part of us went with you,
the day He took you home.

To some you are forgotten,
to others just part of the past,
but to us who loved and lost you,
the memory will always last.

Weep Not for Me, In Memory of a Beloved Cat

Weep not for me though I am gone
into that gentle night.
Grieve if you will, but not for long
upon my soul's sweet flight.
I am at peace, my soul's at rest
There is no need for tears.
For with your love I was so blessed.
For all those many years.
There is no pain, I suffer not,
The fear now all is gone.
Put now these things out of your thoughts,
In your memory I live on.
Remember not my fight for breath
Remember not the strife.
Please do not dwell upon my death,
But celebrate my life.
